Born from the Little Moments That Matter Most

Our Story

The name Wadgee started as a happy accident. Our founder Laura’s niece couldn’t quite say her name. “Lau” became “Wa,” “Ra” somehow became “Dgee,” and the nickname stuck.

It became a term of endearment. A reminder of how kids have a way of creating magic in the smallest moments. That spirit is at the heart of Wadgee: celebrating the sweetness and silliness of family life, while recognizing that it’s also a lot.

There were plenty of good brands. What was missing was a good retailer. Wadgee is the store that should have existed already.


The baby product industry has no shortage of brands doing the right thing. But finding them means hunting across a dozen different small shops, and buying even the most ethical products still often means going through retailers that don't share those values. Wadgee exists to change that. Not just a store with good products, but one that operates with integrity, gives back genuinely, and makes every purchase mean something beyond just filling a cart.

Our Mission

Wadgee exists to be a baby retailer that operates with genuine integrity. Every product on this site meets required safety certifications and current AAP and CPSC guidelines, regardless of price point. Every order contributes to charitable giving. And every decision we make as a business prioritizes people over profit.

Wadgee is a Public Benefit Corporation, meaning our commitment to community and social impact is legally embedded in how we operate. We are dedicated to using commerce as a force for good in the world, supporting those in need and contributing to the communities we serve.

What We Do

A mission statement is only as good as the actions behind it. Here is what Wadgee is doing to back it up.

Safety for All

We check every product against AAP guidelines and the CPSC recall database before it ever appears on this site. We also buy directly from brands, so we're notified immediately if anything changes. Safe products aren't a luxury. They're the baseline.

Built to Give

Wadgee donates 2% of every sale (not profit, the entire sale) to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research. We plan on adding more charities that help children and families soon!

Food & Household Needs

Every month Wadgee donates food, hygiene products, and baby essentials to food banks and shelters in our home state of Maryland. It's a small but consistent act built into how we operate from day one. Because doing good doesn't have a minimum size requirement.

Our commitment will always stay the same: to prove that business can be a force for good at any scale. And as we grow, that commitment grows with us. More giving, more impact, more ways to make every purchase mean something.
